Despite Higher GDP, German Business Investment Lags

While German GDP growth rebounded nicely in the second quarter, business investment has been sluggish. In fact, machinery and equipment investment has only just posted positive quarter-on-quarter growth for the first time since 2011. Further strengthening in machinery and equipment investment growth would help secure Germany’s ongoing economic recovery.
