Weekly Leading Index Slightly Higher


A measure of future U.S. economic growth and its annualized growth rate were slightly higher in the latest week but remained in recessionary waters, as positive moves in its economic components were offset..., a research group said on Friday.

The Economic Cycle Research Institute, a New York-based independent forecasting group, said its Weekly Leading Index rose to 132.6 in the week of Feb. 29 from 131.4 in the prior week, revised down from 132.4...

The index's annualized growth rate edged up to minus 10.5 percent from minus 10.6 percent, revised down from minus 9.6 percent.

"While WLI growth has stabilized a bit in the last two weeks, it remains in recession territory," said Hubman.
