Weekly Leading Index Pushes Down

...The Economic Cycle Research Institute, an independent forecasting group, said its weekly leading index edged down to 137.3 in the week ending April 7, from 138.0 the prior week.

The annualized growth rate of the index, however, rose to 2.8 percent in the latest week.

The prior week's growth rate was 2.6 percent.

"With Weekly Leading Index growth remaining moderately positive, for now U.S. economic growth prospects continue to be fairly healthy," said Lakshman Achuthan, managing director at ECRI.
