Cyclical Upturn in India

From a cyclical perspective the timing is good, with ECRI’s leading indexes showing a trough in the current slowdown, and a growth rate cycle upturn ahead.

The recent corporate tax cut is a big step, bringing tax rates down to the likes of Singapore, which is one of the lowest in Asia. It is also timely for those firms thinking of alternative supply chains away from China, as the Indian government signals it wants to be business friendly, reversing mixed messages from the budget earlier this year.
