ECRI
February 01, 2010
(ECRI) - The Great Recession witnessed the demolition of decoupling, as the global economy experienced an unusually deep and synchronized recession. This followed an atypical period since the late 1980s, which saw asynchronous business cycles, with the major economies mostly taking turns going into recession. ECRI’s latest study examines the evolution of global cyclical volatility and assesses the risk of synchronized global recessions in the years ahead. Its conclusions have major implications for the severity and frequency of future international recessions and the risks they are likely to pose.

ECRI has had a very stellar record. They've been making pretty bold calls and going against the conventional wisdom. So far their record has been one of the most impressive, and has been written up in the press as well as talked about in policy circles.
