Eurozone Recession & Stagflation Risk

While growth in the U.S. economy has clearly slowed, with a very distinct possibility of recession, there has been much debate about the fate of the Eurozone economy. Initial support of the "decoupling" thesis gave way to gradual acceptance that a slowdown was unfolding in the Eurozone.

ECRI’s regional leading indexes had been predicting that such a slowdown was imminent even before the U.S. subprime fallout. Now, an analysis of the latest Eurozone leading indicators suggests that recession risk is no longer unique to the U.S.
